The Executive Secretary of the Climate Commission for the Sahel Region, SEM. Issifi Boureima was invited to join the Heads of Resident Missions of International Organizations accredited to Niger, on July 06, 2024, at the opening ceremony of the first Summit of Heads of State of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
The Climate Commission for the Sahel Region (CCRS), of which the 3 AES countries are also members, welcomes the initiative of this new organization, which should help to combine the efforts of these three countries of the Central Sahel, particularly in the context of pacification and strengthening the resilience of this zone which is the heart of our beautiful region, the Sahel.
This is an opportunity to appeal to all development partners for their sustained support, and to the rest of our sister countries for greater solidarity in the sole interest of our communities, so that the path to pacification and the resilient, sustainable development of the Sahel region and Africa in general can be irreversibly mapped out.
It should be noted that the CCRS now covers 4 sub-regional areas of political and economic integration: ESA, ECOWAS, CEAC and IGAD.
